This
grows naturally in open or shaded spots in oak woodland and pine-oak forests,
between 4000 and 5000 foot elevations. It is one of the few yuccas that can
tolerate the shade of trees and more moist conditions. It can tolerate full
sun but in extremely hot & dry areas it should be given supplemental
water in the summer. Young plants of Mountain yucca have a single, unbranched
trunk to about 12 feet tall, while older plants may have more than one trunk
from the base. The dense rosette is made up of smooth stiff blue-green leaves

Clumping
columnar rosettes. Native to the Chihuahua Desert, this Yucca is one of the
most common tree-like Yuccas seen in West Texas. This Yucca can reach heights
